Day 01 | SHALIMAR RAILWAY STATION – HOWRAH STATION

Pick up from Shalimar Railway station and transfer to Howrah station to board the train to NJP.

Day 02/NJP RLY STATION – PHUENTSHOLING

(Distance: 170 kms. / Driving Time: 5 hrs. / Altitude of Phuentsholing: 293 mts.)

Pick up as per arrival time of the train. Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP Railway Station and transfer to Phuentsholing – The Gateway of Bhutan by Road from India. It is a thriving commercial center on the northern edge of the Indian Plains. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at Phuentsholing.

Day 03 | PHUENTSHOLING – THIMPHU (176 KMS / 6 HR)

(Distance: 176 kms. / Driving Time: 6 hrs. / Altitude of Thimphu: 2350 mts.)

8 a.m. : Breakfast  

9 a.m. : Proceed towards  Thimpu via the wonderful mystic town Gedu, which is about 9000 ft above the sea and Chukha Dam. On the way, halt at Chojum to take photographs of confluence of two rivers of Bhutan, Thumpu Chu and Paro Chu. Reach Thimpu in the evening.  (Immigration formalities will take time and it will be completed by 2.30-3.00 p.m.)

7 p.m. : Reach Thimphu and check in to the hotel.

Day 04 | THIMPHU FULLDAY SIGHTSEEING

8-8.30 : Breakfast

9.a.m. : For a full day sightseeing tour of Thimphu, one of the smallest capital in the world . 

9.20 a.m. : Reach Buddha View Point: A place from where you can get a good overview of the Thimphu valley is from the Buddha point (KuenselPhodrang). You can pay your obeisance and offer prayers to the Buddha, the largest statue in the country and then walk around and take a glimpse of the valley. Memorial Chorten: Also known as the ThimphuChorten, The Memorial Chorten(a stupa dedicated to world peace and prosperity in 1974 in memory of the Third King of Bhutan) . National Library: Housing an extensive collection of priceless Buddhist manuscripts; the Institute for ZorigChusum (commonly known as the PaintingSchool) is where students undergo a 6-year training course in Bhutan’s 13 traditional arts and crafts. SAARCBuilding – Guest will also visit to Wonderful SSARC Building  Textile Museum: Get to know the living national art of weaving at the TextileMuseum. Exhibitions introduce major weaving techniques, styles of local dress and textiles made by women and men. Takin Mini Zoo: The Takin is the national animal of Bhutan, and looks like a cross between a cow and a goat. Legend has it that the animal was created by the great Buddhist yogi, DrupaKunley, and it can be found only in Bhutan.

1.30. p.m. : Have Lunch

3.30 p.m. : visit TrashiChhoeDzong: Also called Fortress of the Glorious Religion it is situated on north of the city on west bank of the Wang Chhu. The Dzong was the site of the lavish formal coronation of the fifth King in 2008 and hosts the city’s biggest annual bash, the colorfultsechu festivities. The opening times 5-6 PM Mon-Fri, 8AM-6PM on Sat & Sun. SimtokhaDzong: The monastery was built in 1627 by ZhabdrungNgawangNamgyal. It houses the Institute for Language and Cultural Studies. The carvings behind the prayer wheel in the courtyard are a major attraction of this temple. 

4-4.30 p.m. : In the evening, return to your hotel and rest overnight after dinner.

Day 05 | THIMPHU – PUNAKHA / WANGDUE SIGHTSEEING (77 KMS / 3 HRS)

(Distance: 77 kms. / Driving Time: 3 hrs. / Altitude of Punakha: 1310 mts.)

8 – 8.30 a.m. : Breakfast

9.a.m : Drive to Punakha / Wangdue, On the way Stop at Dochu-La-Pass (3150 mts.). to view the higher Himalayas. Arrival at Punakha check in at hotel. Visit PunakhaDzong – built in 1637 by ZhabdrungNgawangNamgyal. For many years until the time of the second king, it served as the seat of the Government. The Dzong was named DrukPungthangDechenPhodrang (Palace of Great Happiness). Punakha is still the winter residence of Je-Khenpo and King JigmeDorjiWangchuck convened the first National Assembly here in 1952. 

1.00 p.m. : Reach Punakha, Check in to the hotel.

2.00 p.m. : Take a short excursion trip to visit the ChhimiLhakhang – The Temple, also known as “The Temple of Fertility” was built by Lama DrukpaKuenley, “The Devine Mad Man”.

4.30 – 5p.m. : Return to hotel . Evening free for leisure. Overnight stay will be at Punakha / Wangdue.

Day 06 | PUNAKHA / WANGDUE TO PARO – LOCAL SIGHTSEEING

(Distance: 140 kms. / Driving Time: 5 hrs. / Altitude of Paro: 2280 mts.)

8a.m. . : Breakfast

8.30 – 9.am. : Proceed to Paro (7,483 ft.). On the way stop at Lamperi to visit Royal Botanical Park – The park contains a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna and features a huge species of plants and animals including endangered species.

12.30 -1.p.m. : On arrival check in at the hotel.

2.p.m. : Afternoon visit Ta Dzong – National Museum with an excellent collection of arts, relics, religious thangkha, etc. RinpungDzong – Meaning “fortress of the heap of jewels”. The dzong now serves as the administrative and judicial seat of Paro.

4.30 – 5 p.m. : Return to the hotel .Evening free for leisure. Overnight stay at Paro.

Day 07 / TIGER NEST EXCURSION

7a.m. : Early breakfast

7.30 a.m. : Drive up to the base of Taktsang Monastery (Tiger`s Nest)(Entry fee Rs. 500 per head). The most famous and sacred site among all the places in Bhutan. Guru Padmasambhava is said to have come riding on a flying tigress to this place and meditated in a cave for 3 months, it wasn`t until ZhabdrungNgawangNamgyal came to this place and meditated that it gained the popularity that it has now. The present structure is said to be built in the 15th century but was destroyed by fire in 1998 and has been restored.The walk is about 2 hours till the top through wide pathways which was built during the restoration works. One hour into the climb there is a tea point from where you get a very good view of the monastery, they also serve lunch here. From there it`s about another 45 minutes climb to the 2nd view point and the highest point in the hike. All in all it takes around 5-6 hours for an average person to hike up and then back down to the base.

4.pm. : Return to the hotel.Overnight stay.

Day 08 | PARO – PHUENTSHOLING (200 KMS / 7 HRS)

(Distance: 200 kms. / Driving Time: 7 hrs. / Altitude of Phuentsholing: 293 mts.)

8.30 :  check out from hotel and transfer to Phuentsholing. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at Phuentsholing.

Day 09) | PHUENTSHOLING TO GANGTOK

(Distance: 220 kms. / Driving Time: 7 hrs. / Altitude of NJP/IXB: 89 mts.)

7.30 : breakfast and check out of the hotel at 8.a.m.

8-8.30 am. : take the departure transfer to Gangtok drop

4.30 – 5 p.m. : Reach Gangtok.Check in to the hotel.

Day 10 | GANGTOK TO TSOMGO LAKE & BABA MANDIR – DROP

7 – 7.30 : Breakfast

7.30 a.m. : Check out of the hotel and visit Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.) & Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.) which is 55 kms one way from Gangtok city. (If due to landslide or bad road condition Tsomgo Lake is closed then alternate sightseeing will be provided).

1.30 -2.p.m. : Have lunch on the way

6 -6.30 p.m. : Reach njp railway station..

**ISSUANCE OF PERMIT FOR NATHULA PASS DEPENDS UPON THE AVAIALABILITY. IT IS CLOSED ON MONDAY AND TUESDAY. IF THE GUEST WANTS TO AVAIL THE NATHULA PASS THEN  THEY WILL HAVE TO INFORM US MINIMUM 3 DAYS PRIOR TO THE TRIP. ONCE THE PERMIT IS ISSUED AND DUE TO ANY WEATHER CONDITION IF THE ROADS ARE CLOSED THEN THE CHARGES WOULD BE NON REFUNDABLE**

Day 11 | KOLKATA /RLY STATION – KOLKATA HOTEL – SIGHTSEEING

Pick up from Railway station as per  the arrival time of the train & it will take around 30 – mins – 4- mins to reach the hotel. Check in the hotel.

1 p.m. : Afternoon visit local sightseeing including Victoria Memorial,Indian Museum and Mother House and Kalighat.

5 p.m. : Return to the hotel Overnight stay at hotel.
